Tracey Wang Stuligross was born and raised in China. Like most Chinese, she was primarily raised by her grandparents, and that is where she developed her appreciation for tea. Her grandparents owned a tea house, and were well-respected experts in all aspects of tea, from selecting the best leaves (always loose leaf tea), proper brewing techniques, and the connection between tea and the Zen approach to life. It was there that Tracey developed her love of tea, and began her exploration of the connection between tea and the Zen approach to life.
In China, teahouses provided a place where people could drink high-quality tea, and contemplate the mysteries of life with the guidance of Zen. There were no similar resources available in America, were it was even difficult to get high-quality tea leaves. Her family’s heritage stirred in her heart to bring her love of tea to America, where she could also help with the connection between Tea and Zen. That path began with expanding the knowledge of Chinese culture. The Chinese civilization has been around for 5000 years, and many
in America only know what they have seen in the movies, or heard on television. Tracey has brought pieces of the ancient Asian cultures to America by opening Asian Wonders in the King of Prussia Mall.
TranquiliTEA first opened in 2017 in West Chester, Pennsylvania. The current unit is a bit of a mix between a retail store and a teahouse. From this base, TranquiliTEA is now launching a franchise program under the ownership and management of Tracey Wang Stuligross and John Stuligross. The existing location will act as a proof of concept and training center for new franchise locations as the company expands into new markets.
When you join the TranquiliTEA team as a franchise owner, you will receive outstanding support in a number of different exciting areas including:
As a member of the TranquiliTEA franchise team, you will receive the following training:
Initial Training- Held at the franchisor’s headquarters in West Chester, PA for one to two weeks. Beginning approximately eight to twelve weeks before opening for business.
Onsite Training- Held at the franchisee’s location for one week to assist in the commencement of operations.
Refresher Training- Franchisees will be required to attend up to two days of refresher/update training per year in up to two sessions.
Ongoing Training- TranquiliTEA will provide continued support with sales, operations, territory management and compliance.
An exclusive franchise territory is generally considered a major selling point. TranquiliTEA will be offering exclusive territories to their franchisees as one of the key benefits to early adopters. Down the road, this could be altered and TranquiliTEA might switch to an Area of Primary Responsibility mode in which the franchisees would not have exclusive rights to their areas of business.
Exclusive territories can offer a competitive advantage in the franchise sales and marketing environment. As a result, TranquiliTEA franchise system may choose to grant some of its franchisees an exclusive territory.
Individual Territory – 75,000-150,000 Population Base
Although the areas will be defined by population base and accounts, there will be geographic, state or county lines that actually document the areas that will constitute territories. Other factors to determine the specific territory will include: average household income (or other wealth indicators), population density, existence of competition, capabilities of the buyer, etc. The territory area will be determined for each franchisee at the time of the signing of the franchise agreement.
