With extensive knowledge of successful restaurant operations, the owner of Da’ Crust, Frank McCarron has a proven background in the industry and brings confidence and experience to an expansion plan that emphasizes these goals for each store:
• Well-supervised with hands-on management
• Smooth and efficient operations that incorporate proven practices
• Strong profitability through a sound business model that includes restaurant operations and frozen pizza sales via fundraisers
Currently, Da’ Crust operates in Henderson, Nevada, providing a wide variety of pizzas, including: meat-lovers, vegetarian, BBQ chicken, margarita, and more! Beyond its amazing restaurant operations, Da’ Crust has a commercial kitchen that produces frozen pizzas for heat-and-eat resale. This is a true differentiator in the pizza industry and elevates Da’ Crust into extraordinary profits. Based on its current success, Da’ Crust will be franchising the company’s operations in order to duplicate this business model into new markets and expand the organization’s market footprint. Through franchise development, Da’ Crust will have the ability to operate locations in new markets and areas without the cost and management responsibilities that would come with widely distributed company-owned outlets. Because the pizza segment is crowded with competition, it will take a unique value proposition and a focused business development program to establish the brand. Through a focus on high-quality product and a commitment to the Da’ Crust culture and concept, and unique fundraising model featuring frozen pizzas, the business will effectively position itself as both a successful restaurant brand and a proven business model in franchising.
The Da’ Crust business model is simple and structured efficiently to provide profitability and ease of operating management, which allows for ease of replication and will make for a straightforward training program with new franchise partners.
Da’ Crust relies on an efficient operating system that provides great food for customers looking to enjoy fresh ingredients in an affordable and convenient manner. Each restaurant is operated by a highly trained staff has a special focus on operational processes, cleanliness, and quality. The customers range from college age, to young families, to the elderly, and anyone looking quality pizza, sandwiches, Italian favorites, and an overall delightful experience. The current corporate operating unit will be representative in appearance and layout and we will continue this theme of uniformity as the brand expands via franchising.
The initial franchisees will be marketed and sold near the existing unit and will be expanded from there, in concentric circles. Based on the existing unit demographics, locations should be opened in areas that have a mix of middle to high-end demographics. The operation should generate revenue through foot traffic and reputation, which is greatly dependent on the location and the quality of service. We anticipate that a franchisee will also tap into the local fundraising market and can sell via local sports teams, schools, etc. to improve their sales and overall profitability. The unique combination of flavors and choices combined with the extreme high-quality ingredients offers the customer (in the restaurant and the heat-and-eat) an exceptional dining experience and strong market position for Da’ Crust.
Locations should range from 1,500 to 3,500 square feet and will typically be in a strip center or stand-alone building and (preferably) will be given attractive rental rates and T.I. dollars from the landlord. The storefront will need to be in areas with strong traffic, a high density of residential housing, and great visibility to drive the projected sales volumes and revenues per unit.
Technology and systems (Clover POS) have been put in place to manage the business (and potential online ordering) and to allow the Franchisor to oversee franchisee’s operations from a distance in reviewing financials and day-to-day numbers.
Da’ Crust prepares all of its pizzas with a focus on quality that has been proven for over 30 years and in three states. It’s sausage and roasted garlic pizza that is proudly named “Da’ Winner” won the International Pizza Challenge and is a customer favorite. The options continue from there as customers can order from an amazing menu of traditional combinations or can create their own mix of toppings. Additional favorites on the Da’ Crust menu are Da’ Dish a (traditional Chicago-style) deep-dish pizza, vegan pizza, and Da’ Italian Beef. Each menu item is made with high-quality ingredients and is available for carryout, delivery, or dine-in.
With Frank McCarron’s experience in the pizza industry that dates back to Chicago in the 1980s, Da’ Crust has created a menu that showcases classic flavors that any pizza connoisseur can appreciate. Fresh, high-quality ingredients (like home-made chorizo) are at the heart of each dish, delivering enormous flavor with every bite.
This business is more than just great food. A hands-on management style ensures a top level of service, cleanliness and a warm, family atmosphere. The staff’s knowledge and experience of food safety rules and regulations ensures proper food handling techniques in a clean and safe environment.
Da’ Crust is committed to consistently improving the menu so it is not uncommon to see new items to enhance each guest experience!
A member of Da’ Crust field support staff will visit each franchisee according to the following schedule:
First Quarter – Weekly/Biweekly Second thru Fourth Quarters - Monthly Ongoing - Quarterly
It is estimated that Da’ Crust will need to hire one field supervisor for every 15-20 franchises in the field. The Franchisor will incorporate a formalized mechanism for ensuring quality control among franchisees that will be implemented by these field supervisors. Designated staff members will perform supervision of field support duties.
In addition to field support, members of the Franchisor organization will provide the services listed below. The Franchisor must assign a specific person to cover each of these support areas (one person can be assigned to more than one task). The names of support staff members who are officers, directors, or have significant management responsibility in conjunction with franchisees will be disclosed in the Da’ Crust Disclosure Document. The Franchisor has the responsibility to assign a person/people to each task during the development of the franchise program.
